In former days Pink Lane was the boundary of the town. The Red brick, five storey
brewery building has a simple but distinctive façade with rows of arched windows
separated by a projecting cornice at each floor level . The top storey contains smaller
arched windows effectively terminated with a fluted cornice at roof level.

The Central Station was designed by John Dobson and opened by Queen Victoria and
Prince Albert in 1850. The large Renaissance style Roman arches with square pilasters
dominate this impressive ashlar masonry building.

Painting size 475mm x 335mm, 2011.
